Aniseed balls are small, hard, deep-red sweets with a strong, long-lasting aniseed flavour. They're one of the oldest British sweet-shop classics and still a favourite with liquorice and aniseed fans. Ours are the Kingsway vegan recipe.

Questions
What are aniseed balls?
Aniseed balls are small, round, hard British sweets flavoured with aniseed, which tastes a lot like liquorice. You suck them slowly and the flavour lasts.
Do these aniseed balls have a seed in the middle?
No. Older recipes had a seed at the centre; these vegan Kingsway ones don't.
