Not Even Third Time Lucky

A year ago, almost to the day, I wrote a post called "Third Time Lucky." In it, I said no grand promises, just a quiet one: I'd be here more often, even if it was messy or short or late. I even pre-empted the obvious: "And if I do slip again? Progress is a winding road."

Reader, I slipped again. It's been a year.

So: not even third time lucky, apparently. No new excuses, just an honest look at the scoreboard and another go at it — properly, this time, starting this week.

What's actually changed is that a fair bit of the personal, knowledgeable side of Wilfreds that used to live in the shop — someone behind the counter who actually knew the stock, could talk you through a liquorice you'd never tried, remembered what your kids liked — doesn't automatically carry over to an online shop. That's not a small thing to lose, and it deserves a proper post rather than a passing mention. That's what's coming this week.

For now: we're back, the sweets are still good, and there's an actual plan behind it this time rather than just a nice line about winding roads.
