SWEET SIDE BLOG | SWEETS, SEASONS, CURIOSITIES

A personal service in 2026
Last week I said I'd write properly about this, so here it is.When Wilfreds had shops — first a few, eventually down to Cambridge and Stratford-upon-Avon — the best part of it was never really the sweets. It was April, Cheryl, Nigel, Lisa, James, and everyone else behind the counter over the years, who knew which liquorice you'd like based on the last one you tried, who'd talk a nervous parent through the sugar-free options, who remembered your kids' names and what they always went for. It wasn't just me.... Leer más...
Not Even Third Time Lucky
A year ago, almost to the day, I wrote a post called "Third Time Lucky." In it, I said no grand promises, just a quiet one: I'd be here more often, even if it was messy or short or late. I even pre-empted the obvious: "And if I do slip again? Progress is a winding road."Reader, I slipped again. It's been a year. So: not even third time lucky, apparently. An Update: Wilfreds in March 2025
Wilfred Website Redesign When we got back into the office on January 2nd, well, we pretty much ripped up the formula and restarted what we were doing. Crazy, I know—I’m a little impulsive. But it was a change that needed to happen, and the time was now. From selling every sweet in five different weight segments, the feedback I was getting was of a total decision paralysis.  It’s incredible how much our products are gifted to loved ones for special occasions. By streamlining the product offering and the way we... Leer más...
